After i reset my laptop for a windows system update i noticed that a white non-interactive rectangular area appeared on my desktop background, top left of the screen near my program shortcuts. The white area is

only there on the desktop, when i have a browser window, video, program or game open (anything really), the white area isn't there. The area can't be right clicked and no shortcuts can be dragged over it or placed where the rectangle is. I may not be

explaining this very well and this may not be the best place to ask this, but does anybody know why? It isn't the display or the screen as far as i can tell since it is only present on the desktop, it isn't a real problem, just a strange bug i have never seen

or heard of before.

I am using a samsung series 7 gamer laptop with windows 7 (64-bit), the problem has only been present since today. I have tried changing the desktop background image (incase it was just something to do with that) and that did nothing, the white area didn't

move or change at all. I tried to google this, but all of the searches came up as problems with the monitor or display, which doesn't apply to this as far as i can tell.

Any help would be appreciated, i'd also to be curious to know why this happened if anybody knows.

Thanks :)
