Does windows 7 installation need "Allow remote access to your computer " box to be checked??

Original title:remote access

 

I have clean installed windows twice in the last 12 months and both times when I look in Computer Mangement>Allow remote access to your computer  the box is ticked.  The reason I do this is because I allowed remote access to someone and had so many problems

after it that I had to reinstall windows. Does windows 7 installation need this box to be ticked.
