Storage Spaces not showing any pools but the virtual drives it created are there

I am having an issue with Storage Spaces in Windows 8 Pro.  I have a few internal and a few external drives that I added to different storage spaces, (1 for video, 1 for music, 1 for pics, etc...) and they are all showing up just fine

under Computer, but under the Manage Storage Spaces it shows no drives listed and won't let me make any changes at all to them (as they are not showing up).  I did a refresh and it came back, but then disappeared a few days later.  I only installed

Plex media server and windows updates are this is being used to serve media only, not used for anything else.   Any help or ideas would be appreciated!
