Update KB2538242 keeps repeating when the machine is shutting down

Update KB2538242 keeps repeating when the machine is shutting down; it's the same update every time.  At present I have 7 successful downloads for this update. Since this started about 2 weeks ago, I have not been able to download any other Windows updates,

although I am sure that there are some new updates available..  I tried using the Trouble shooter for 0x80070002. a Potential Windows Update error, but the next time I shut the machine down, the update notice came back, and it is still with me.  Can I get

some help with this problem?
