Any news on a release date for patch to bring back the start menu for business users?

I have searched no one has asked yet. I have read the large threads on the subject. 

My key supplier (major name in UK) are saying less and less models are left that come with Win7. Also that I can not downgrade Win8 EOM therefore my only option is to buy Win8 volume licencing! 

 

I know I could buy a fix tempted to ask them to pay for it. There is the open source fix but do I want a 1000 PCs that one day stop because MS send out a patch combating the fixes.
