Guest Bill Y Posted October 2, 2007 Posted October 2, 2007 I've installed Virtual Pc onto my Pc and have installed Windows svr2003 std. When I run svr 2003, and go to gpedit.msc try to make a change in Windows Setting for lets say password length, (want to change it from 7 to 10) its shaded in gray. Actually everything looks to be shaded in gray. Why can't i make changes. I've installed Virtual Pc in order to try things here before doing it live on my Server. need Help. thanks. bill

You cannot change the policy settings on a DC directly using gpedit. You need to edit the Default Domain Controllers Policy object in Active Directory. -- Chris.
