Upgrading laptop with ssd. Can I use a system image of win 7 to install on new ssd?

Purchased nww laptop with Win 7 Home Premium 32-bit and other software pre-installed. No discs were provided. I want to replace hdd with ssd. No other changes. I can create a system image on a dvd and physically swap the drives. Can I then install Win 7

using the system image I created? What about the other software (Microsoft and otherwise)? If not, how can I do it without buying new software?
