I wonder if there are any Microsoft licensing/activation experts out there who can give me a definitive answer on this one.

I need to be able to work from two locations (one in the UK and one abroad), moving between them every few weeks.  I shall be travelling by air so need a lightweight solution - I can't just put the computer in the car.

I'm thinking of building two identical computers, one for each location, with a hot-swappable drive (probably SSD).  The theory is that I should be able to simply take the disk out, get on a plane, plug the disk in at the other end, and carry on working

where I left off.

As far as I can gather from various forums, this should be technically possible.  The only problem is Windows 7 licensing/activation.  Is this legal use of a Windows license?  And will I be forced to re-activate Windows every time I switch machines?

Obviously since the machines will be self-build, it'll be a full Windows (not OEM) licence.  I'd even purchase two licences, if need be - although one would probably remain in its shrinkwrap unless there's a way of installing two licences on one

machine.

(Please don't suggest I use a laptop / remote desktop instead: there are good reasons that neither of those would work.)

Thanks for any advice you can provide.
