How do I transfer a Windows 7 upgrade from failed hardware to another computer?

My windows XP laptop with a retail windows 7 upgrade suffered system failure, including motherboard and power source. I would like to use the windows 7 upgrade on a Vista PC. How do I transfer the licence to activate the operating system? (The licence I

have is for 3 computers - the failed laptop was the 3rd computer, and this is the license required for transfer)
