Stop outlook express from opening

Outlook Express opens when I press the "mail" key on my computer.  This started when I did a clean reinstall.  Formerly the "Mail" key opened Thunderbird, my default mail program.How can I stop this and go back to Thunderbird?(The registry settng for "mailto" is correct - Thunderbird)
