i am not getting critical updates

I am not getting critical updates.  Someone called me and told me that I should repair this over the phone.  i refused to do so.  I attempted to get critical updates from Microsoft by repairinf updates with troubleshooter and FIXIT.  I still am not getting

CRITICAL updates.
