Hi guys!

How do I permit installing windows updates for a limited user account on a Windows 7?  This is a "standalone" PC: there is no AD, WSUS, etc...

I tried to do this with a local group policy to permit non-administrative accounts to install updates.

But it said to have no effect on a Windows 7 (and yes, there is no effect, actually).

Is there any other methods to permit it?

The second part of my question is about permitting the installation of third-party software (e.g. JRE, Adobe Acrobat, etc...) updates for a limited user account. What is the less time-consuming (and at the same time, the most secure:))) way to do this?

I know there is a way to do this with AppLocker...any other suggestions?
