This is pretty high level, but will be glad to try to get data if I am told exactly what to provide, and how to obtain this information.

I find that since installing SP1 on Windows 7 on this pc (Dell Studio XPS, 64 bit) that the machine crashes, hangs, or bluescreens after a Windows Update. I usually have to reboot it twice (hangs the first time, gives recovery options the second time), then

it never crashes again--until the NEXT time there is a Windows Update.

The cynical solution would be to never install the updates, but I don't want to do that in case there is some critical security update that is really needed. So as I said on the onset some direction would be appreciated as to what I should do to capture

the needed information to resolve this hideous cycle as I described.

Thanks.
