Windows XP Home SP2

I have a problem with adware/malware.

I was told by Microsoft that I have to reinstall IE7.

Please let me know how to do it.

Thank you.

You were 'told by Microsoft' and they did not point you to:

How to uninstall Internet Explorer 7

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/927177

???!

Also a Google search for:

how to uninstall Internet Explorer 7 in Windows XP

http://www.google.com/search?q=how+to+uninstall+Internet+Explorer+7+in+Windows+XP

Brings up that and more...

As for installing Internet Explorer 7... I suggest HIGHLY you download the

installation file BEFORE you uninstall and save it someplace safe.

Sometimes uninstalling IE7 on WIndows XP can have some weird effects.

Download page given the information you have given...

Re: Internet Explorer 7 uninstall/install

Open Add\Remove Programs in control panel. Scroll down to Windows Internet

Explorer 7, remove-uninstall it. You will be prompted to re-boot. Then install

Internet Explorer 7 again (make sure you have the package).

While in the state of "not having IE installed", you always have it intrenched in

the system. Clean your system up of mal-ware. Using Ad-Aware 1.06 (more light

weight than the newer one), Spy-Bot S&D, and Spyware Blaster (immunisation).

Re-install IE 7, hope this works for you.
