You were 'told by Microsoft' and they did not point you to: How to uninstall Internet Explorer 7 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/927177 ???! Also a Google search for: how to uninstall Internet Explorer 7 in Windows XP http://www.google.com/search?q=how+to+uninstall+Internet+Explorer+7+in+Windows+XP Brings up that and more... As for installing Internet Explorer 7... I suggest HIGHLY you download the installation file BEFORE you uninstall and save it someplace safe. Sometimes uninstalling IE7 on WIndows XP can have some weird effects. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/downloads/ie/getitnow.mspx Download page given the information you have given... http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=9AE91EBE-3385-447C-8A30-081805B2F90B&displaylang=en -- Shenan Stanley MS-MVP -- How To Ask Questions The Smart Way http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html

Guest Winda Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 Re: Internet Explorer 7 uninstall/install Open Add\Remove Programs in control panel. Scroll down to Windows Internet Explorer 7, remove-uninstall it. You will be prompted to re-boot. Then install Internet Explorer 7 again (make sure you have the package). While in the state of "not having IE installed", you always have it intrenched in the system. Clean your system up of mal-ware. Using Ad-Aware 1.06 (more light weight than the newer one), Spy-Bot S&D, and Spyware Blaster (immunisation). Re-install IE 7, hope this works for you. - Winda "rocasan1" <rocasan1@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:802574AE-F0B3-439F-863A-02435AA385E6@microsoft.com... | Windows XP Home SP2 | =============== | I have a problem with adware/malware. | I was told by Microsoft that I have to reinstall IE7. | | Please let me know how to do it. | | Thank you.
