Windows 7 install issues???

I have a hp dv5000 I upgraded to windows 7,worked pretty good for a mnute...Then  had jumping mouse problems which was an update issue that fixed it.Then screen when shutting down went blue & boot manager missing came up & it wouldnt shut down,just restart...fixed

that,now it at start up goes to boot manager & ask me do I want previous windows or windows 7 to start? Help me out to get this straight please...Tired of spending more time fixing issues than using computer. I know it cant be to bad but I need assistance

from someone more knowledgible.
