I keep getting a FAILED UPDATE notice with the error code 80070490 regarding kb2779562.  Ive installed the Mr Fix It, Ive tried the system readiness tool with the hot fix for another kb number but nothing is working.  This has been going on for months now

and Im getting fed up with Windows.  Why is there no easy fix for this?!  I have a Sony Vaio Laptop with a 64bit system.  Windows 7 Home Premium was preinstalled and I DO NOT have a DVD. 

 

 

Please help!  Ive tried multiple commands through DOS with 0 success as well.  Ive tried running the update in a clean boot and that didnt work either.  This error is effecting other things like my printer and I dont know what else to do.  Thanks
