AD Printer Migration between Servers

I'm trying to migrate my printers to a new server which has a

different name. I've done this but all the clients appear to reference

the old server explicitly rather then just printer to PRINTERNAME on

AD.

Is this the norm? I'd assumed that if I downed the old server the

clients would pick up the same AD name and print to the new server.

Any help much appreicated.

If I understand your question correctly, you need to change name server name

to match the old printer server.

Thanks for your reply, the problem is that the server I'm moving the

printers to is also a file server, so I can't rename it. Is there a

way I can move the printers from server 1 to server 2 without

revisiting all the clients?

cheers

Steve
