SBS2003 very slow client logon and no GPO inheritence

I am having a nightmare of a time with a new SBS 2003 installation.

Users take an eternity to log on and when they do no settings from the gpo

associated to them are applied.

I have a very simple policy applied that runs a bat file containing 3 'net

use' commands to map drives. Nothing else has been changed. Once logged on I

can access the server without any problems.

I have a server 2003 installation that ruins with no problems at all...SBS

seems to be slightly different but I have been working on this for hours now

to no avail so any input would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

That sounds like a DNS problem. Make sure the SBS server is your DHCP, DNS,

and WINS server. Run the CEICW wizard on the SBS server to make sure the

correct scope and settings for DHCP and DNS get setup. Reboot the clients

and see if it works better.

SBS questions are probably better asked in

microsoft.public.windows.server.sbs. Although SBS 2003 is based on Server

2003 it is managed differently and has very specific setup requirements.

Thank you for the suggestion...I had the wrong IP in the DNS when I doubled

checked.

Thank you so much for the reply.
