Microsoft Office 2013 updates (12 Feb 2013) cause my audio to stop working

After restoring my computer to before I installed the recent Office and Windows 8 updates, I've narrowed the culprits down to the 12 Feb 2013 Office 2013 updates.  Before install - audio; after install - no audio.  What can I do?
