im running xp pro with sp3. my original xp from the cd has sp2 . that wont be a problem will it?

im running xppro with service pack 3. but i need to reinstall xp pro from my cd but it only has service pack2. will that be a problem? and will it fix all my registry problems and windows issues for instance when i try to type in msconfig in the run bar

it says windows cant find it.it says that alot just about everything i type in there says that. and i internet explorer 8 wont respond after about 1 min or 2. ive reset it twice now its better than it was . it use to pop up for 1 sec then disappear
