Compaq Mini on XP Home SP3, 896 Mb Ram memory

 

I was unable to install KB2742597 and following suggestions on the net used dotnetfx_cleanup_tool.zip. First, in order to install Vodafone Internet dongle (as I was travelling) it installed .Net Frame 2.0. Later I installed the 4.00 installer from

http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=17718&ppud=4 and spent a whole day doing MS updates. Finally I seem to have reconstructed the original :Net versions: 1.1, 2.0, 3.0, 3.5, 4.00 and a new one 4.00 extended, along with Portuguese language.

 

Even though the original KB2742597 ended up installing, now, I cannot install KB928416 (error 0x13EC) and KB2468871 (error 0x643). I have tried all methods given in MS pages including Mr Fixit and nothing works.
