Seems to me that since early January to mid February 2013 (to date) something is going wrong with updates not showing in Installed Updates and my computer becoming unreliable.  I use Microsoft Security Essentials (which I have been updating daily) but

none of these nor my Windows Updates (which there are none of since 13 February 2013) are listed although I have been running Windows Update daily.
