i dont know why i feel the speed booast with upgrading to win8 does not feel significant on my notebook, but i wonder if microsoft could consider this feature suggestion to alleviate the loss of productivity and wait time i encounter during computer usage:

have a system folder where some text files are placed. provide an option so that during shutdown/restart/startup (boot) the contents of the text file is displayed on the secondary display from the last known reading point. display a clock/date on the primary

display. these serve more informational purposes so i can browse some educational or news documents when waiting so at least the dumb machine is letting me do some thinking or enlightening instead of just wait wait wait.
