*** 2799494 installs, then wants to again in loop (5 times&counting) ***

Vista 32 bit Business Service Pack 2 (build 6002) running AVG free (updated today), default browser is Opera v12.14

After two successive days installing this update :Vulnerabilities in Windows Kernel Could Allow Elevation of Privilege (2799494)The update process immediately came back and asked to do it again. Then again. This time, I noted it seemed to be the same one, so I checked my update history - which confirmed it had just installed the same update 4 times. So I searched for problems, and found the fixit program:MicrosoftFixit.wu.LB.31284349427196661.1.1.Run.exeWhich ran and identified a problem with the updater program (which figured). So I let it correct that, which it said it had done successfully. So I let the update run one more time to do it "properly"But then it immediately wanted to do the same update yet gain.Re-running the fixit program indicates there is nothing now to fix.Which is why I'm here.Searching this forum for 2799494 only gave limited returns, so I checked http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2808380 (Windows Update service freezes after a Windows RT-based computer enters the "connected standby" state)

- which seems to be about ARM mobile devices.I'm on Vista32 bit desktop. Looking at Tadasha Mishra's reply in View this thread
