Why do my fonts deteriorate after latest upgrade?

My computer automatically upgraded on February 27 and since then my fonts have been deteriorating when using the internet.  I use firefox to avoid the annoying ads on IE that you cannot block.  Everything was working fine until the last upgrade.  What

gives?
