mccieventx.dll displays everytime I turn on my pc

Every time I turn on my laptop, I get a message that there was a problem with this file and to uninstall and reinstall the program. Well the banner on the top of this error message is saying to reinstall verizon's in home agent program. What does this file

do? It is located in c:program filescommon filesmotivemccieventx.dll. My laptop is now havin probelms installing updates. Are these related? I am using Vista OS|IE 9.0|Dell inspiron 1525.

Please shed some light please.
