windows 8 Can't open file explorer windows.

Hello, I'm not sure when this started, but for some reason I cant open file explorer windows. Things I have tried

Unpinning it and repinning it to the task bar

using the metro shortcut (win key + "file explorer)

using metro shortcut and clicking open file location

using the other metro options when you right click

restarting

restarting explorer.exe

SFC /scannow or w/e, said there were no problems

shortcuts on the desktop.

The only thing that works is if i create a new flippin user account, which is annoying and not really a proper solution.
