I just bought a brand new laptop and I spent all day loading my files, photos, setting up email etc. Everything was perfect. Last night when I logged out and shut down, the "installing windows update 1 of 1" alert came up.   It took quite a long time to

run before it finally shut down.  Then this morning, I log in and the laptop is wiped clean of all my personalization, all my files, photos, email account. Everything was back like when I brought the laptop home except MS Office 2013 was still installed (I

added this the day I bought the laptop, 2/28/13)I did a system restore and it brought everything back but then it gave me an error message saying the restore process was unsuccessful and nothing was changed. Well it did change alot thankfully for the good. It brought everything back but now I'm terrified

of allowing those auto updates. It seems others are having this same issue.  I've turned off the auto updates but I know that's not a good solution.Any ideas on what happened? I'm so afraid its going to happen again.  I keep a backup disk but this is a major issue.
