Microsoft Mouse Driver Download Error, but Mouse works ok

I just purchased a new computer running Win7, and seem to have going through many updates.  One involves the mouse, which seems to work fine without the update.  The most recent update downloads ok, but there is an error during installation.  The update/driver

seems to be "Microsoft Pointing Drawing Microsoft hardware - USB Mouse".  Error messae 80070103 is specified

 

It's tough to ignore, as I continue to get error messages.  What can I do?

 

The computer is a Fujitsu Lifebook NH751.  I doubt if a have a malware problem, as I'm running Norton 360 and have been online very little.
