I have just built a new computer and installed Windows 7 64 bit. I cannot however install updates.

The updater gives me the error code of C80001FE.

 

I have tried everything in this thread:

 

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2509997

 

Some of these removed the error code and resulted in the updater just stopping while checking for updates (going back to the screen saying "click here to check for updates") and the last thing I tried resulted in the return of the error code.

 

This is ridiculous. My computer is brand new, as is this copy of windows.
