hello friends

i am using windows xp 2002

 

i am having 2 hard disks

80 gb n 250 gb

actually i am using 80gb n windows xp installed in it

but while starting up this HDD is in slave

 

i connected my 250 gb to cpu

 

when i saw in BIOS settings

250 is in secondary master and 80 gb in secondary slave

how to change 80 gb to secondary master

n 250 to secondary slave

 

(because i cant access the 250GB HDD and main thing is i want to access data in the 250 GB HDD)

 

i connected 250 GB HDD to cpu(not through external casing) 250 gb came into master disk secondary as it is not installed OS xp its starting up n remains blank screen which means black no screen

 

i bought one external case for 250 gb sata disk when i connected 250 GB HDD

but its not detected and i am not able to see the HDD connected ...

 

 

please help me regarding this

You have to determine the wiring on your comptuer. Is it Cable Select or is it a Master/Slave setup? Once that's determined, you configure the jumpers on the hard drives to the appropriate positions.

BIOS settings aside, you will also have to setup the drive for windows to see it and use it, setting up the drive involves Partitioning and then formatting the drive and allocating a drive letter to it.

All the above can be done from XP's Disk Management utility.
