Hello,

i cant seem to do any windows updates, whenever i go to the page and click "check for updates" i get the message "windows update cannot currently check for updates because the service is not running. you may need to restart you computer"

i have ran the Microsoft fix it for windows updates but it doesn't work.

 

I have tried the recommended responses in the threads that have already responded to this issue including the cmd instructions, but the instructions were not recognized when I ran it as the administrator.  I am still at a loss as to how to get any updates.
