windows 8 Nice feature

If you are at the desktop, Win 8 will boot back to the desktop on a restart or power down. If you drag the mouse pointer to the bottom right corner, that pop-out bar shows. You can select Power, and then you can select Power-Down or Restart. When the O/S reboots, 

it will show the Start-page for a couple of seconds, and then it will go back to the desktop. :)

I love it,  since I am at the desktop about 95% of the time. I think this works well on a laptop where it's being powered down for transportation and turned back on, which I do twice a day between work and home. I think logging off and then powering

down on Win 8 is not needed, like on the previous versions of the Windows O/S to prevent that I have always done in the past.
