Guest Sifu Fernandez Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 This is a great place to know XP and OS. My Question is does any one know in how to configure a Group Policy for Win XP Pro and deploy it to other desktop. Instead of going to each computer to manually make each setting. Thanks

Guest John John Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 Re: Script on Group Policy You can export/import the security template. http://search.microsoft.com/results.aspx?q=export+security+template&qsc0=0&SearchBtn0=Search&FORM=QBME1&l=1&mkt=en-US&PageType=99 http://search.microsoft.com/results.aspx?q=import+security+template&qsc0=0&SearchBtn0=Search&FORM=QBME1&l=1&mkt=en-US&PageType=99 John Sifu Fernandez wrote: > This is a great place to know XP and OS. > > My Question is does any one know in how to configure a Group Policy for Win > XP Pro and deploy it to other desktop. Guest John John Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 Re: Script on Group Policy PS: You can configure the policies on one machine then copy the whole %Systemroot%\System32\GroupPolicy folder to the other machines. This is ok for machines in a workgroup or for stand alone workstations. Guest Newbie Coder Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 Re: Script on Group Policy Sifu, What's I'd do in your position is set up a policy & apply it via AD to the groups you wish You haven't specified what policy you want to deploy -- Newbie Coder (It's just a name) "Sifu Fernandez" <SifuFernandez@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:16A6CD28-5CBF-4118-922D-0581BB12B8A4@microsoft.com... > This is a great place to know XP and OS. > > My Question is does any one know in how to configure a Group Policy for Win > XP Pro and deploy it to other desktop. Guest Sifu Fernandez Posted October 7, 2007 Posted October 7, 2007 Re: Script on Group Policy *** Ok this is what i trying to accomplish *** Client has so many pc's in XP Pro and i want to lock down several selections lik they do not see the add/ remove programs, no run option, unable to change themes, etc. While they are on a limited account, so i would like o do all this on 1 pc and export the settings so that i can import it on all of their pc's either 1 by 1 or all the same time. OS for Server is : Windows 2000 Server - Can this be done on a Server with using XP Pro? And since i saw the gpedit.msc feature i would like to deploy it all at once if possible. Thanks Again "Newbie Coder" wrote: > Sifu, > > What's I'd do in your position is set up a policy & apply it via AD to the groups you wish > > You haven't specified what policy you want to deploy > > -- > Newbie Coder > (It's just a name) > > > > > > > "Sifu Fernandez" <SifuFernandez@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > news:16A6CD28-5CBF-4118-922D-0581BB12B8A4@microsoft.com... > > This is a great place to know XP and OS. > > > > My Question is does any one know in how to configure a Group Policy for Win > > XP Pro and deploy it to other desktop.
