ram question

I currently have 2GB DDR2 ram 2X1GB sticks, If Iwant 4 GBcan I just buy two more 1GB sticks and add them, I have four ram slots. Also Does the ram have to be from the same manufacturer for it to work? thank you

my system amd X2 5000+, 2GB ddr2 ram, asus nforce 560 sli chipset, geforce 8800gts 640 mb, 600 watt power, vista home basic 32 bit

Max 8GB memory on this chipset, so yes you can add more.

 

If you want to run the memory in Dual Channel mode then you would be advised to buy the same memory you have now. If not, then just buy compatible memory.
