Trying to reinstall Windows 7 64 bit

I'm trying to re-install Windows 7 64 bit onto my machine. I've been installing my original XP then trying to upgrade with the 7 disk(s).  For some reason when I put in the 64 bit disk I get an error message saying it's incompatible, which is odd, as this

machine has been been using 7 (64 bit) for about three years. 

 

When I run the adviser I'm told "no problem". I've installed 32 bit without issue. Even after that, when I put the 64 bit disk in, I still get an error message. Damaged disk?

 

Help?
