upgrade with service pack 2 or service pack 3.

OS is with MS Service pack 1, want to upgrade with service pack 2 or service pack 3. I tried with MS free download but error comes as

 

'the version of windows you have installed does not match the update you are trying to install'  

 Pl. provide the solution.

System info as follows -

MS windows XP professional service pack 1

System type : X86based PC

Model : Toshiba satellite proA40 (year 2005)

 

Most of the softwares asking for upgradation of Service pack 2, Pl. suggest insatallation of service pack 2 or service pack 3. If I install service pack 3 whetehr these will support requirement of softwares asking for service pack 2.
