trying to instal win8 Pro as an upgrade to win7. error 2738!

trying to instal win8 Pro  as an upgrade to win7. Part way through instal stops and a message tells me "Cannot continue. Uninstal Intel Pro network Connections to continue" Will this kill my internet link? I cannot afford too much down time. Any ideas?
