System stalled after attempting to install KB2814124

Attempted to install KB2814124 by systems stalled with cpu 0%.  Tried to stop installation, but had same results: CPU 0%.

Then tried to restart system but got the following message:

    "Do not power off or unplug your machine.    Installing update 1 of 5."

 

Help.   How can this be fixed?  Power down or what?  Please help...
