Guest hurricane1951@gmail.com Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 OK, I have a problem I've never seen before. Ever since I built my computer I've named (labeled) my C: drive C- Drive and my D: drive D-Drive. I've followed this convention for years and years. I bought new USB drives recently, and named those drives USB-01 and USB-02. When I rebooted my system, My Computer/Explorer now displayed the D: drive as USB-01. I can't seem to get it to change, even though Properties shows the label as still D-Drive, Disk Management still shows it as D-Drive. Only My Computer displays the wrong name. I've renamed it several times with no effect. Any idea what's wrong with My Computer?

Guest ZYX Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 RE: My Computer Displays Worng Drive Label /i have another language location so i may use different "expressions" / click Start-Programs-Accesories-Admin. tools: click on the computer icon- "PC Administration" It opens window, find there something like "Storage" and Disk Administration. It will show in the lower menu on the right side Hard disks, cd/dvdROMs, USBs/ must be connected/. Right click opens menu, there you find -Change letter and path...-

Everywhere I could find to access the volume name of the disk it was correct. The ONLY place it is incorrect is My Computer/Windows Explorer.
