I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium edition. On Wednesday night, as I shut down my computer - it installed some updates (I think there were 6 but not sure which ones). When I turned the computer on on Thursday, it got to the "preparing to configure windows"

screen with the little blue circle spinning to show it's loading but then it never went any further. An hour later I came back and still the same thing. I've rebooted it several times. Put it into safe mode (which loads fine). Tried using the windows repair

tool, used the "fix problems with windows update" option from the control panel however it just says it wasn't able to automatically fix the issues and when listing the components it just says 'not fixed'.

I haven't got any previous system restore points to back up to apparently (I assumed they were created automatically - but apparently not!). Whenever I restart normally, the same issue occurs and it never progresses past that same message screen. Right

now I'm in safe mode with networking which loads fine and works fine. Any suggestions or solutions to help windows load normally again would be most welcome!!

Thank you :)
