Okay, so I'm using Windows 7 on my HP dv6 laptop, and for some reason every time I update my computer, windows is unable to restart.  It finally starts after I do system repair and/or system restore a number of times or until system restore says it has

no more restore points.  More often than not the start up repair says that there is a problem but the start up repair could not fix it, so I send the information to microsoft with the "send info" button.  Last night (3/15/2013) my computer installed 1 update.

I go to turn it on this morning and windows fails to start. I go through system repair and tell it to do  system restore.  It actually worked successfully and I checked the details to see what the root problem was.  System repair concluded that a patch was

preventing windows from starting.  I restart the computer and low and behold, windows, despite the successful repair, fails to start again.  My computer as we speak is attempting to repair itself again.  I am using my brother's computer, also a windows 7 but

on an HP dv5 and it does not seem to suffer from these issues.  This should not be happening.  What is wrong and how can I fix it?
