I just had to restart my pc for a windows update, ok no problem I thought.

then I saw what you usually see: windows is installing updates something% progress.

but when it had to start up it seemingly crashed since it said it had to restore windows and failed doing so.

then I had some options: -put pc off, -start win 8 anyway or -renew pc. (pc vernieuwen in dutch so I don't know wheather this translation is right)

first I chose to start win 8 anyway there it said it couldn't and restarted again, said to be having to restore windows and again failed doing so

tried again... same story. then I decided to let the pc be renewed. it took about an hour in total. and now my pc is normal again but everything is uninstalled (excepted the pre-installed programms which you get from your first start of he pc) and I'm

frustrated.

oh the C: has a map old.windows now but I don't know if I might be able to use it someway but to the first appearence the answer seems no.

most likely I will probably just have to reinstall everyhing.

and now my question: what the heck is going on? is this a windows 8 'killer update' like we had with windows 7?(that came in all the newsprograms back then)

my pc is a (new!) Lenovo Z500 laptop (it has got awesome prestige so that can't be the problem) you can google it to see the systemprestige I guess.
