Installed two of three updates yesterday.  Computer is set to update automatically but apparently it does not always work.  The above mentioned update did not install.  The is the second time this year alone that I have had this problem.  I am not a computer

"geek" so this is VERY frustrating.  I have tried all the troubleshooting that I understand but do not feel comfortable disabling or turning off something in order to install an update.  Just how important is this update?  Also, after installing the updates

when I went in to check for updates the computer now shows that I have NEVER checked for updates.  My installed updates are a mile long.
