I am new to this community and accidently marked this problem answered.   The truth is it is not.  I appologize that I have to create a new question.  The original question is: 'Windows Update indicates this PC is up-to-date, but actually many more KB (including

SP2) needed to be installed'.

Hi Sundeep,

I followed your instruction and did the system file (sfc scan) in the method one.  The result is

Window Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them.  I select all SR records from the cbs.log and place the records in a text file.  There are many verify and 0 repair but it did not specify any file name.  Now I don't know

how to continue.  This is not what I expected.  I did run Checksur.exe, that was fine.

How do I know waht system files are corrupted and do the repair?  Thank you.
