Having problems updating my Laptop. It fails every time and displays "unknown errors". I recently tried unistalling some software from my laptop (iTunes) and it told me that my laptop was running in "safe mode", and couldn't do it. I don't remember turning

this on, and it's never crashed or had to boot up in safe mode. It's fairly knew (bought in October 2013).

The only reason I was trying to uninstall iTunes was because it wouldn't update, so I thought that I ould uninstall and reinstall the software as a round-a-bout way of getting the latest version.

I've run a full system scan that took a few hours - using Microsoft's own Security Essentials - but it didn't pick anything up.

I've rebooted a few times but that hasn't worked either.

I have a HP Pavilion dv7 (Windows 7 64bit)

Any ideas?
