I am having trouble turning my computer on at the minute, it takes around 15 minutes from the moment you press on before the start up screen where you log on (type in your password) appears. Note that it does not normally do this.

I have tried running a Norton full scan and a deep embedded virus detecting software (From Norton as well) and both scan have found no virus.

After searching for ages, I found that my windows update is unable to check for new updates (I am unaware how long this error has occured, but in my update history only 3 updates can be seen).

I have tried changing the names (going through regedit) but nothing seems to be working.

Please can someone tell me how to get my windows updates working again
