Unable to uninstall KB2670838, system restore also not an option - can I do anything more?

Hello,

 

I am also experiencing the loss of aero and issues in games (ex. green highlights in BF3) likely related to critical update KB2670838.  I have attempted to uninstall the update using control panel (without IE 10 installed), but receive an error.  System

restore is also not an option.  Is there more I can do to remove the update?

 

System:

Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate Version 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 Build 7601 System Type x64-based PC Processor Intel® Core i7 CPU 920Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 12.0 GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570

SAMSUNG SSD 830 Series
