Hi

If there's one single factor about Windows 8 I absolutely dread, it is the automated update facility! Why does Windows persistently try to install updates for Office 2010 32 bit version when I am - was - running the 64 bit version? Conversely, now I also

have Office 365 loaded, it won't upgrade that at all. Furthermore, Office 365 has reverted to the 32 bit version - since I don't believe I was given the option on download. And why - when it is failing to install the upgrade, does it persist in trying?!?!

If I leave the close down screen alone as instructed, it can sit there for hours (literally 24 hours on a broadband connection!) before I eventually have to give up and turn the machine off. I truly truly love Microsoft and all it has achieved, but I can waste

hours and days on stupid trivial little things like this! Can anyone please help me to stop this happening?

Thank you

Janet
