MBSA Cannot scan because target computer is not assigned to a WSUS server.

I HAVE A WINDOWS 7 HOME PREMIUM X 64 BASED PC AND WHEN I SCAN THE COMPUTER USING MBSA IT KEEPS COMING BACK INSTANTLY WITH INCOMPLETE SCAN.( ISSUE): SECURITY UPDATES AND THE  (RESULT):  MBSA CANNOT SCAN COMPUTER BECAUSE TARGET COMPUTER IS NOT ASSIGNED TO

A WSUS SERVER. HOW DO I CORRECT THIS AND WHAT DO I NEED TO DO BECAUSE IN WINDOWS UPDATE IT SHOWS UPDATES FOR WINDOWS 7 AND WINDOWS SERVER 2008 R2 X64 PC. THANKS IN ADVANCE
